Autum term dates (2nd half) 2014

Headteacher Mr M. Grogan

Welcome to Tyldesley St. George’s Central CE School. We pride ourselves on being a warm, caring and friendly school.

We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School for boys and girls aged from 3 to 11 years. It is expected that there will be approximately 300 children on roll in September 2014.

Our school motto of: ‘Never Settle for less than your best’ is at the heart of everything we do in school and together with parents, carers, governors, the church and local community, each and every child is encouraged to follow this principle.

We are fortunate that we have many classrooms and resource areas, a modern ICT suite, a huge sports field and a large playground. Your child will be taught by talented, enthusiastic and caring staff who use their expertise to extend the learning experiences of all pupils both in the classroom and in a range of extra – curricular clubs, trips and activities.

We hope that many of the questions you have may be answered through this website. However, should you require any further information or wish to visit the school then please contact the staff in our school office who will be more than happy to help.

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Mr Mark Grogan
Headteacher

Our Mission Statement at the school.

St George's Central seeks to provide quality education rooted in the Christian faith, serving the spiritual, moral, and educational needs of the community of which it is part.

Our teaching philosophy.

We encourage all our children to strive for academic excellence but we also want them to develop the personal skills and qualities to enable them to live alongside others.

We want them to feel loved and valued and we aim at all times to help children develop positive self-esteem and to experience pride in themselves and their achievements to give them a sense of self belief and the confidence to make the most of their lives.

We empower our children to search out answers about their world and to develop a love of learning. Our ultimate aim is not only to educate but to excite and inspire our children to develop a love of learning that will last for life .
